Cat of the week
Pippin,

Pippin,

Gender/Age: Female, 6 years
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Ginger and white
Location: New Romney

Pippin is a very shy but sweet girl who will need a kind, gentle and patient owner who will give her the time and space she needs to settle in to her new home. She is good with other cats, gentle dogs and we are suggesting calm children 10yrs+

Hilda

Hilda

Gender/Age: Female 5yrs
Breed: Siamese
Colour: Tortie Seal Point
Location: Edenbridge

Hilda belonged to a breeder and when she wasn't able to breed successfully she was dumped in a rescue centre. Sadly the kind lady who adopted her has gone into a care home, and Hilda's cat companion recently died. She is understandably nervous and takes time to trust new people. She is a very loving lap cat once she is comfortable, but she suffers from separation anxiety which means if she is left too long she becomes distressed and urinates inappropriately. Hilda would absolutely love to live with a gentle, loving cat who would be her friend and keep her warm, she cannot bear to be cold. She needs a very loving home where she will not be left, unfortunately she has an extraordinarily loud voice and cries when she is alone. Hilda does have some issues, but for someone who has the time to allow her access to every part of their life (including sleeping on the bed), she will be a very loyal and loving companion. So far in her life, Hilda has been in three homes and two rescues, please consider offering her a forever home where she will be safe and loved for the rest of her life. Hilda needs an adult home, or one with gentle older children with no dogs please. Hilda is an indoor cat.

Lady

Lady

Gender/Age: Female, 5 years
Breed: Domestic Short haired
Colour: Calico
Location: New Romney

Lady is a beautiful shy lady, who loves lots of fuss and attention once she has learnt to trust you. She will need a quiet, calm home where she will be allowed to settle in her own time. Lady has never met other animals, but may well be okay to live with a gentle cat who won't bully her as she is very nervous. Lady is an indoor cat and we are suggesting gentle children 10 years+.

Brenda

Brenda

Gender/Age: female, 1yr approx.
Breed: domestic short haired
Colour: black
Location: New Romney

Brenda is a playful young girl who was found living as a stray so is looking for a quiet home that can show her she is safe and loved. Brenda can be a little unsure of new people and sometimes react with aggression but possibly with time and patience she will realise there is nothing to panic about and she does have moments where she will play and accept fuss and is starting to improve with people she trusts. She will need to be the only animal in an adult only home.

Sophie

Sophie

Gender/Age: Female 6yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby & White
Location: Edenbridge

A very sweet little girl who has lived in a very quiet home with her beloved dad. Sadly her dad has died recently and she is absolutely bereft and distressed. Sophie is naturally very shy and will take time to learn to trust a new person. She will hide away when she is frightened but she is incredibly gentle and will make a sweet, homely companion for a gentle loving person or couple with no children or other pets.

Bobbin

Bobbin

Gender/Age: female, 6yrs
Breed: domestic short haired
Colour: black
Location: New Romney

Bobbin is a sweet young cat who will need a patient calm owner as she can take a little while to settle but once she does she likes nothing more than a good fuss and head scratch! She will need to be the only animal as she gets quite agitated around other cats and we are suggesting gentle children 14yrs.

Phizz & Mowgli

Phizz & Mowgli

Gender/Age: Female & Male 8yrs
Breed: Bengals
Colour: Spotted tabby
Location: Edenbridge

These two extremely bonded cats were used as a breeding pair for the first five years of their life. They were caged and had no love or socialisation. They were sold to a family who were told they were fine with children, but sadly they were, understandably, absolutely terrified of the children and after making brilliant progress with their confidence over a period of two years, their owner decided very sadly that their fear of the children had reached an unmanageable point and the best thing for the cats would be a new home. They were rehomed to a quiet couple but sadly Mowgli has recently started urinating in their home, possibly because of the appearance of another cat in his territory. The cats are loving and affectionate in time, and are terribly sweet, nosy and very noisy, but they will probably always suffer from anxiety and stress because of their extremely poor start. One way to address this might be to have a room that is very much theirs from the start and to keep them in that room overnight so they feel safe and don't feel the need to mark the house. They need the most patient, gentle owners who can cope with their erratic behaviour and are happy to take the time needed to gain their trust and make friends with them. Phizz and Mowgli are very adventurous cats, and once they are established in the home, they are likely to spend quite a lot of time outside racing around.

Mikey & Leo

Mikey & Leo

Mikey & Leo

Gender/Age: Males, 6 months
Breed: Domestic Short haired
Colour: Ginger
Location: New Romney

Mikey & Leo are a sweet pair of siblings who were rescued from a farm after being kept in a cage with minimal human contact, they then moved into a loving family home but were too scared of their dog that they were not settling. They are both lovely cats, who need a patient owner who is happy to spend time with them & earn their trust. Mikey is more nervous than Leo, but both accept affection on their own terms. They are not good with other animals and we are suggesting older sensible children 14 years+. We are looking to rehome them together as they are very close.

Ninky & Ronnie

Ninky & Ronnie

Ninky & Ronnie

Gender/Age: Female & Male 11yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tortie and Ginger
Location: Edenbridge

A very sweet pair of cats. Ronnie is quite adventurous and loves to roam, Ninky is very homely, and although she does use the garden, she also needs a litter tray in the house. They are both very loving lap cats and very affectionate. They can live with friendly cats, very gentle small breed dogs and gentle children 8+yrs. Ninky lost one of her eyes when she was young, but her vision is fine and she doesn't have any problems. These two will make lovely, noisy (!) family pets for loving new owners.

Alix & Shay

Alix & Shay

Gender/Age: Female & Male, 1yr
Breed: Domestic Short haired
Colour: Black & White
Location: New Romney

Alix & Shay are a shy but sweet pair of young cats, who unfortunately came to us as part of a rescued orphan litter who were found on the streets. They are quite nervous to begin with, and so will need someone with plenty of time and patience who will not push them past their boundaries as it takes time for them to learn to trust you. With patience, their curiosity, playfulness and cheeky nature soon emerges. These two need a quiet, calm home where they can safely explore their surroundings in their own time. They are good with other cats and we are looking for an adult only home.

Muffin & Moonlight

Muffin & Moonlight

Muffin & Moonlight

Gender/Age: Females, 2 years
Breed: Domestic Shorthairs
Colour: Tortoiseshell & Black
Location: New Romney

Muffin & Moonlight are a sweet duo who love affection & cuddles, Muffin can be more shy but will come for affection when she feels like it. We are looking to rehome these two together as they are very close & have grown up with each other. They have never met other animals, but may be okay with a placid friendly cat. We are suggesting gentle children 6 years+. These two are indoor cats.

Nicole & Rhani

Nicole & Rhani

Nicole & Rhani

Gender/Age: Female 7yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby
Location: Edenbridge

Two very sweet girls whose mum has sadly died. Nicole is independent and can be very shy and nervous initially but she is gentle and sweet. Rhani is an extraordinarily friendly lap cat and her favourite thing is to jump up to sit on your shoulders and wrap herself around your head. She is playful and very busy and loves company and attention. The girls will be OK with very gentle small dogs and cat friendly cats, they should be fine with gentle children 7+yrs as long as they are happy to let Nicole have her own space. The girls have not been outside for the last 3yrs and will need to stay indoors for 8-10 weeks before going outside to become fully established in the home.

Magic, Paddy & Maddy

Magic, Paddy & Maddy

Magic, Paddy & Maddy

Magic, Paddy & Maddy

Gender/Age: 51/2yrs & 4yrs
Breed: Short haired
Colour: Tortie & White, Tabby & White and Tortie
Location: Edenbridge

Very sweet, playful family who will enjoy the great outdoors once they have settled in a home, and will be hunters. Magic's owner was severely mentally ill and Magic lived in a shed all her life, breeding but unable to protect her kittens and so loves the two that she has finally been able to keep safely. All three are shy but gentle and curious about everything. They all adore catnip and dreamies and love to play with things on strings. Magic and Paddy are very bonded and need a home together, Maddy would need a home with another friendly, gentle cat. Paddy is much more friendly now and can be stroked when he is eating, with some work he will become more tame and is a real sweetheart. Maddy is still very shy but not aggressive. Magic has no real interest in people and keeps to herself, but if some catnip toys appear she will play for hours and when the weather is windy, she gets very excited and races around like a kitten. Please consider these cats, they are our longest residents and need homes of their own. Although they are shy, they would be fun for a gentle child 8yrs and over who was happy to sit and play with them and slowly make friends. More info on Special Needs click on tool bar above

Phoebe

Phoebe

Gender/Age: Female, 11 years
Breed: Domestic Short haired
Colour: Black
Location: New Romney

Phoebe has bundles of character and is looking for a loving forever home after her owner couldn't keep her anymore. She can be a little shy to begin with but once she trusts you she loves nothing more than to curl up on your lap for a fuss. Sadly, she isn't good with other animals and will need an adult only home.

Cleo

Cleo

Gender/Age: Female 5yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby
Location: Edenbridge

Cleo is a very tiny, very pretty little girl, but unfortunately she is extremely fearful and can be fear aggressive. When she is frightened she tries to make herself look as frightening as possible, and succeeded in scaring her last owner so much that Cleo had to be collected from the home. She takes a long time to trust anyone and even once she has developed a relationship, she can still be set off by an unusual sound or event. Cleo needs a very experienced owner, who won't be intimidated by her fearful displays and who is happy to leave her alone and allow her to settle in for as long as it takes. I have developed a very sweet relationship with her, it has taken months and now I can stroke her and she sits on my lap for brief periods. It is all very much on her terms and she is happy with that. She is worth the wait for a patient person, she will always be nervous, but is a funny, playful, chatty and affectionate girl, very much in need of a home.

Hugo

Hugo

Gender/Age: Male 2-3yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby & White
Location: Edenbridge

Hugo has been living as a stray for quite a while and has lost his connection with people. He found a kind person who took care of him and wanted to keep him, but sadly he has FIV and she has another cat, so has given him up for rehoming. Hugo has been waiting in a vet surgery to find a space in a rescue and has now come into Last Chance. He is very fearful and bewildered and is going to take time to adapt to a new life as an indoor cat, but for a kind, patient person who will allow him to hide and work things out in his own time, he will regain his trust and be able to develop a relationship. Hugo will need to be an only pet in an adult home. Please don't be put off by his diagnosis of FIV, most cats with FIV live normal healthy lives.
