Cat of the week
Fluffy

Fluffy

Gender/Age: Female 11yrs
Breed: Domestic Semi long Haired
Colour: Tabby
Location: Edenbridge

Fluffy has been a much loved pet, but she has recently been diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and sadly her owner cannot manage her medication as he is not well. She has been a very sweet companion to him, enjoying sitting on him and having a fuss. Fluffy will need regular brushing and is looking for a foster home, ideally not too far from the Edenbridge Branch as she will need to come back to see our vet for her check-ups. Fluffy will make a lovely pet. She does enjoy pottering around in the garden but is very homely and will soon come back inside. Ideally Fluffy would like an adult home with no other pets, but she should be fine with very gentle children 12 yrs and over, who are happy to give her some space to settle in before making friends.

Belle & Sookie

Belle & Sookie

Belle & Sookie

Gender/Age: Females, 4 years & 2 years
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Black & Tabby
Location: New Romney

Belle & Sookie are a sweet pair of cats looking for a new home through no fault of their own. Sookie is Belle's daughter so they have been together since then and so are looking for a new home together. They are good with other cats, but have never been around a dog before. They are both affectionate and friendly once they know you but can be a little timid to begin with. They will need access outside as they are used to going out exploring and then coming home for cuddles. We are suggesting quiet middle-aged children upwards

Splat

Splat

Gender/Age: Male 2yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Black & white
Location: Edenbridge

Splat is a very sweet boy who was bought as a kitten for two boisterous 3yr old children. Unfortunately he did not cope with this situation and over the last two years has become more nervous and withdrawn. His owner realised it wasn't fair and has brought him in to us for rehoming. Splat is very gentle and once he has found his feet he will be a very sweet pet. He sits on a lap and sleeps on the bed and is looking for a home with very gentle children 8 yrs and over who know when he has had enough and would like some space. He does need a relatively quiet home. He has not been out yet and must have a safe home away from main or busy roads so that he can explore safely after settling in. Splat is young enough to introduce to a very cat-friendly cat or a very gentle dog who is experienced with cats and will not be too interested in him.

Pushkin and Petra

Pushkin and Petra

Pushkin and Petra

Gender/Age: Females, 7yrs & 6yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Grey tabby, Tabby
Location: New Romney

Pushkin and Petra are a lovely mother and daughter duo who came in through no fault of their own. They are both affectionate girls on their own terms, and love a good brush! They will need access to a garden as they are used to going outside. They cannot live with dogs, but may be able to live with other cats, and they may be able to be rehomed separately. They are not good with young children. Please consider these lovable tabbies!

Fred and Lily

Fred and Lily

Fred and Lily

Gender/Age: Male and Female, 6yrs and 8yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Black and white, Tabby
Location: New Romney

Fred and Lily are a lovely pair. Fred is more confident, Lily can be a bit timid, but welcomes cuddles once she trusts you. They are both a bit on the chubby side, so will need to go on a bit of a diet in their new home! A safe outdoor space is also essential for them to run off some of their padding. They would prefer to live with no dogs or young children. Please consider Fred and Lily if you have two cat shaped lumps in your home to fill.

Juno and Ceres

Juno and Ceres

Gender/Age: females, 2yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Black & white
Location: New Romney

Juno and Ceres are a pair of very nervous and frightened young girls who are looking for a quiet experienced home where they will be given lots of time and space to settle. They may never be entirely comfortable with being touched or handled as their previous owner stated they have always been this way so any adopter taking these girls on will need to understand this and not try to push them or force them to accept affection. They have mostly been kept indoors but may benefit from having a safe outside space to explore once they are ready, however this would need to be done very slowly and only after the girls have been kept indoors in their new home for at least 3-6 months. They will need to be the only pets in a quiet adult only home. If you are experienced with dealing with nervous, frightened cats please consider giving these poor girls the loving home they deserve.

Nala

Nala

Gender/Age: female 2yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby & White
Location: Edenbridge

Nala is a very dear little cat who has recently had surgery to mend a rectal prolapse. She is doing really well, and as long as she has a good diet which keeps her tummy stable, she should be fine. She is a very funny little cat, a bit nervous at first and can be quite hissy, but very playful and affectionate when she gets to know people. She is very young and full of beans and needs an owner who has time to spend playing with her and letting her burn off some of her energy. She will sit on a lap, but hardly ever sits still. Nala would like to be an only pet in an adult only home, with a safe outside space. She needs someone who is around quite a lot in the day as she loves attention and games.

Loki

Loki

Gender/Age: Male 5yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby & White
Location: Edenbridge

Loki lived with his human mum since he was a kittten and has come to us, bewildered and sad after her death to find a new loving home. Loki would love a home with another very kind, patient woman with no children and no other pets. Once he gets to know you, Loki can be a very loving lap cat, but very much on his terms and he is also an independent boy who loves the great outdoors and is very likely to bring you 'gifts'. With time and patience, Loki will be a very lovely, noisy, sweet companion for a gentle, loving owner.

Cleo

Cleo

Gender/Age: Female 9yrs
Breed: Domestic Short Haired
Colour: Tabby
Location: Edenbridge

Cleo is extremely fear aggressive and it is impossible to predict what might frighten her. Once scared, she lashes out fiercely without warning, and while she is recovering, which can take some time, she will continue to skalk and attack the person who she associates with the fright. So she needs a room of her own, where she can settle in, getting used to new sounds and people, and which she can return to if scared, to keep her person safe, and to help Cleo to recover. She has had three homes where her new owners found her behaviour too hard to manage. Cleo needs an indoor home where no children will ever visit and there are no other pets. She could live with a couple, where both people are happy to take their time getting to know her and take her fears seriously, or a single person. When Cleo knows and trusts someone, as she does me, it does not stop her from being scared, but she becomes less likely to react violently. She is enormously playful and so incredibly affectionate. Anyone interested in her would visit several times to become a little bit familiar before she went home, and would follow advice carefully in order to bond with Cleo in the safest possible way. Ideally Cleo would be homed not too far from Edenbridge, and I would do everything possible to help a new owner to settle her in. For a brave, gentle, patient, compassionate person who will work hard to make things right for her, Cleo will be an absolute darling, as she is with me, loving, ridiculously playful and sweet. Please get in touch if you might consider offering this unusual little cat a chance at a new life.
